HealthTECH Resources is seeking a Manager IT Application Systems specializing in managed care/payer technical environments for an immediate contract opportunity with a leading healthcare organization. We are looking for a remote consultant to start ASAP, but this role is also open to Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire (FTE) for the right candidate. Manager IT Application Systems Primary Responsibilities • In this role, you will provide team leadership by managing a team of Systems Analysts and Sr. Systems Analysts, guiding them through the ongoing planning, design, implementation, and support of core business and clinical solutions. You’ll oversee application support for critical systems including QNXT, CareAdvance, and member/provider portals, ensuring seamless operations across the health plan’s technology ecosystem. • A key aspect of this position involves building and utilizing expertise across proprietary Cognizant tools such as Configuration Manager, Content Editor, Workflow engine, and TCS. You’ll also maintain direct relationships with key application systems vendors through vendor management, ensuring accountability against contract SLAs and fostering productive partnerships. Throughout all activities, you’ll ensure compliance with related regulatory and security requirements that govern health plan operations. Manager IT Application Systems Essential Qualifications • 8+ years of progressive experience implementing and supporting IT applications in a healthcare environment, coupled with 6+ years of management experience leading technical resources in the implementation and support of complex payer IT solutions. • Payer/health plan experience is critical, we need someone with at least 4+ years implementing and maintaining health plan functions including Claims, Utilization Management, and Care Management. • Experience with Cognizant QNXT and CareAdvance solutions in a managed-care organization will set you apart. From an education standpoint, an Associate Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. • Strong soft skills are essential, you should possess excellent coaching abilities and be comfortable presenting documented requirements to both technical and business audiences, bridging the gap between IT operations and clinical/business stakeholders.
