General Accountant Remote – U.S., preferably based in San Antonio, TX)

About the Role We are seeking a General Accountant to join our expanding commercial and real estate firm. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative and dynamic environment. This position ensures accurate accounting records, strong internal controls, and timely financial reporting to support management decisions. Key Responsibilities • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and general ledgers. • Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements. • Develop and deliver financial and management reports for company leadership. • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor account balances. • Coordinate with external tax advisors on Tax Return filings and follow-ups. • Manage accounts receivable and oversee collections. • Submit payment requests and collaborate with the administration department. • Support internal and external audits, including internal control evaluations. • Assist with contract review and documentation follow-up. • Maintain organized files of supporting documents for financial operations. • Manage and update client and vendor records (files and documentation). • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and help set priorities to meet deadlines and goals. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • 2–3 years of professional experience in general accounting. • Experience in commercial or real estate sectors preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). • Hands-on experience with ERP or accounting software. • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles. • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
