Department:ICE | CASL CA ROC Radiation DosimetristDepartment's Website:Summary of Job Duties:This position reports directly to the Radiation Oncology Clinic Chief Physicist and is responsible for providing physicians and therapists with treatment planning, calculations, quality assurance planning, constructing custom blocks as needed for patient treatment, taking required measurements on patients, consulting with physicians and other therapists in planning and delivering patient treatments and maintaining quality control.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree plus Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) or eligible after completion of JRCERT accredited program in Medical DosimetryAdditional Information:Responsibilities:Designs patient treatment plans and prepares dose calculations by using computers, calculators, and manual techniques for external beam treatment planning.Consults with physicians and therapists to ensure the accuracy of patient information and dose calculations.Collaborates with radiation therapy staff to assess and improve patient treatments and/or set-up techniques.Shares results and recommendations with their supervisor, as appropriate.Assists radiation therapists with patient set-up procedures at the treatment machine and/or simulator as needed.Completes proper records, patient data forms, planning documents, and billing information logs.Performs checks on patient charts for accuracy and proper documentation according to established procedures.Monitors and adheres to general radiation safety guidelines.Participates in clinical research and quality improvement processes, as necessary.Performs other duties as assigned.#UAMSSpecialtySalary Information:Commensurate with education and experienceRequired Documents to Apply:License or Certificate (see special instructions for submission instructions), List of three Professional References (name, email, business title), ResumeOptional Documents:Proof of Veteran StatusSpecial Instructions to Applicants:Recruitment Contact Information:Please contact [email protected] for any recruiting related questions.All application materials must be uploaded to the University of Arkansas System Career Site Please do not send to listed recruitment contact.Pre-employment Screening Requirements:Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check, Substance Abuse TestingThis position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
