AI Agent Engineer (GPT + API Developer)
Role Overview We are seeking an AI Agent Engineer to scope, design, and build AI-powered products and agents that automate personal and professional processes. This role blends product vision with hands-on technical building: from scoping custom GPT agents to wiring real-time data systems and lightweight interfaces. The focus is on fast, functional tools, not enterprise infrastructure. Type: Independent Contractor (part-time) Compensation: $100k-$150k/yr (Depends on Experience) Location: Remote Core Responsibilities Collaborate on scoping and experimenting with AI agents to streamline workflows. Build and deploy custom GPT-based products/agents via the OpenAI API (or other preferred Agent APIs). Design real-time data fetch systems (e.g., market news, financials, event tracking). Develop portfolio tracking and simulation tools with pipelines for incoming data. Create lightweight web interfaces (React/JS or similar). Architect and extend structured memory and agent logic for autonomous behaviors. Continuously expand agent capabilities by integrating new APIs, libraries, and functions. Tech Stack (current example, expanding): Frontend: React / JavaScript Backend: Cloudflare Workers for API orchestration Database: Supabase AI/LLMs: OpenAI API Other Tools: GitHub, Replit, Python (for pipelines and integrations) Preferred Qualifications Strong full-stack development skills with ability to prototype quickly and ship production-ready tools. Experience building and deploying AI products or autonomous agents. Comfort with APIs, data pipelines, and multi-service integrations. Bonus: Familiarity with financial markets, trading tools, or portfolio analysis.
